Justice Dan Biles is a native of El Dorado. He earned a journalism degree at Kansas State University and worked as an Associated Press reporter in Topeka while attending law school at Washburn University School of Law. He was an assistant attorney general, attorney for the Kansas State Board of Education, general counsel for the Kansas Turnpike Authority, and worked in private practice before being appointed to the Supreme Court.
