Supreme Court reappoints lawyer to Admissions Review Committee

TOPEKA—The Kansas Supreme Court reappointed Sherri Loveland to a three-year term on the Admissions Review Committee.

Loveland will serve a term that begins July 1 and ends June 30, 2024. She is a lawyer at Stevens & Brand in Lawrence.

To receive a license to practice law in Kansas, an applicant must be mentally and emotionally fit and show good moral character. Applicants who do not appear to meet these requirements are referred by the admissions attorney to the Admissions Review Committee.

The Admissions Review Committee is composed of three practicing lawyers. Together, they review applicants referred to them and make recommendations to the Kansas Board of Law Examiners.

Other committee members are:

• James Oliver, a lawyer at Foulston & Siefkin, Overland Park; and

• Sylvia Penner, a lawyer at Penner Lowe Law Group in Wichita.
